Culture In Decline Review

Debunk13 Debunked

Also, what is this ? I think it's obvious no one really is going to respond to this blog, we all know it's VTV with his like 10th sockpuppet account. That's his strategy, when losing, make up people to defend you. Anyways, I do want to clear up some things.
This ended up manifesting in some very sloppy trolling masquerading as journalism by Mario Rodriguez. Who apparently figured he could get away with making a up story that VTV censored Jacob Spinney.
At the time, I did think that there was censorship taking place during the whole Jacob Spinney thing (let's not pretend that VTV hasn't censored shit before) but it appears I was wrong in this case and experienced some type of error:
I wasn't lying, I just hit a glitch. Everything else that was said was just bitching. Oh, wait..
He always refers to VTV as the "fat elf" referring to the photo they took from Neil's private facebook account illegally where he is engaging in Live Action Role Playing also known as "LARP".
I'm not sure who pictures were taking illegally from him. This is someone for some strange reason switches back and forth from his V-RADIO account to his personal facebook account on facebook.com when he's engaging with people in general. I guess he does to give his comments on facebook 2 likes so that he seems intelligent or some shit. Oh and he is a fat elf. He's somewhat of a public figure, if he can't take heat, then he needs to get out of the kitchen.
After the ad hominem, Mario goes on to say that Brandy Hume "lost" the debate to Jacob Spinney on youtube because she stopped making videos after that.
She got ether'd and shut her down. Jacob made his points articulately without coming off as a condescending bitch like Brandy Hume. Also, the copy and paste shit she was doing just demonstrated how little of a critical thinker she is. I still stay by that opinion, I don't care how butthurt anyone is about that or how I approach TZM/TVP in general. It's a fucking joke.

Suppose you and I were having an argument about the color of a car. You say it is orange, I say it is red. My computer breaks down so I stop posting in the debate.
You're making this too easy, VTV. I'm done.

Censored: Zeitgeist Movement “Anti Currency Cult”

Today Peter Joseph is mad and once again must defend the followers of the Zeitgeist Conspirituality Movement (Gravitas Ventures) from more cult/religion allegations.  It is amusing to see Peter Joseph always on the rope, defending his religious flock from constant allegations of being a religion or cult.  I hope Peter J makes more youtube videos and facebook posts defending his flock.
Peter, you don’t have a “radio show”, stop lying, anyways, here is a link to the article that got Peter Joseph mad:  http://www.valueresearchonline.com/story/h2_storyView.asp?str=20492
Jul 21, 2012 - By James Kush
The past five years have seen several crank “anti-currency” cults surfacing. For example, a group called the Zeitgeist Movement, which is a break-away from a similar group called the Venus Project, makes a lot of noise while propagating its crank theories online as well as releasing propaganda films.
The “solution” is unreal. The Zeitgeist movement promotes a science-fictional, communistic “resource-based economy” (RBE). Currency will be abolished in the RBE. Global banks of computers will track all natural resources and allocate them according to respective needs. There will be an averaged allocation of food calories, fuel supplies, electricity, etc. This will be done in sustainable fashion so that nobody suffers and the ecological balance remains stable.Zeitgeist means “spirit of the times” in German. The movement is supposedly in response to a popular feeling that the world’s natural resources are inequitably divided and exploited in an unsustainable fashion. The movement aims to change this.
It can’t be done of course. To start with, there is no way to redistribute resources without violence. The top 50 per cent of global population controls close to 80 per cent of resources and of course, there are national divisions. Ergo, you’d have to kill a lot of people before you can redistribute.
Even if resources were somehow redistributed peacefully, the computer programmers would possess immense undemocratic powers. Even if the computer programmers were all deeply altruistic, such a system could still be gamed for profit by citizens.
Somebody may choose to have lots of children (or perhaps, keep lots of pets) so as to control resources allocated to minors. This can only be prevented by curtailing basic human rights.
Even if everybody voluntarily accepted family planning, simple transactions would still be impossibly cumbersome without currency. Suppose one person, A, hates chocolates and is willing to forego his allocated chocolate ration. But A wants a haircut every fortnight, whereas the RBE allocates a haircut once every month. Suppose another person, B, is a hairdresser, who wants to own a racing bicycle. In a currency-based economy, neither A or B have problems. A doesn’t buy chocolates and has as many haircuts as he likes and can afford. B charges for haircuts, and saves up to buy the cycle he wants. In an RBE, A has to trade his chocolate ration for haircuts; B has to trade hair-cuts for a bike. Setting exchange rate for such barters is difficult.
This is a simple example of why currency was invented. It is a common denominator between dissimilar goods and services. A currency doesn’t need intrinsic value. It is useful only because people use it as a medium of exchange. No nation backs its currency with bullion anymore. The printed text on a currency note contains a promise to redeem it for a given value. As an economy gets more complex, the need for a common denominator (currency) increases because there are a wider array of dissimilar goods and services available. While the cultists claim to represent the spirit of the times, they are actually a very fringe minority. The real spirit of the times is a proliferation of new currencies.
Virtual transactions
In the past five years, many virtual currencies have come into existence on the Internet. As the online economy has grown in size and popularity, so have the number of virtual currencies. Think of it this way. You pay your local shopkeeper in rupees for goods produced by a Chinese subsidiary of an American company because it’s most convenient for both of you. In theory, you could pay in dollars or Yuan, but it would be more cumbersome.
Similarly, in online economies, it makes sense to use a local, virtual currency rather than convert each transaction from various national currencies. For example, the social networking giant, Facebook uses a virtual currency called the FB Credit on its site. This trades at around a current rate of 10 FBC =1USD$. Facebook has over 900 million users spread across the world. They could all, in theory, use FB credits. It also has affiliate sites, which accept FB credits. Many websites use other currencies such as the open-source Bitcoin or ducats, etc.
These currencies are exchanged online for real goods and services with quantifiable costs. A very common transaction for instance, involves paying for movies and music downloads in a virtual currency. Advertisers and online market researchers also offer virtual credits to people who click through ads, or fill up surveys. Quite a few real-world services such as bed-sitter rentals, car-maintenance services, etc, can also be paid for in virtual currency if you’re hooked into the right online circuits.
Virtual currencies are also directly, formally, convertible (both ways) into national currencies such as the dollar, yen, euro, won, etc. Assets denominated in virtual currency can be auctioned on websites like eBay for national currencies. Exchanges like Singapore’s First-meta Exchange specialise in this.
The number of goods and services that can be bought using virtual currencies is increasing. The complexity of transactions is growing as well. But there are, as yet, no virtual central banks managing virtual interest rates, or controlling virtual money supply.
Obviously a real world currency and economy needs more “management” since the real world is far more complex than the online world with a much larger inventory of goods, services and trading interactions.
But virtual economies are already quite complex and at the same time provide a useful model. As online economies have evolved, it has become apparent that the measure of control required for maintaining a successful currency is less than most central bankers would have us believe.
In the real world as well, central bankers also have less control than they used to, due to the increasing integration of the world economy. In an open economy, it’s impossible to simultaneously control exchange rates, money supply and interest rates – this is sometimes called the Impossible Trinity.
If a central bank wishes to manage its interest rate, or money supply, it must accept fluctuations in the exchange rate. Unless it’s an absolutely closed economy like North Korea, the exchange rate will change to reflect central bank action. The price of domestic goods and services will also change. Excessive controls may lead to developing of black market currency rates.
Monetary policy is a powerful tool. But it is not a cure-all. Economies with big policy issues and structural imbalances cannot solve their problems by just changing interest rates or money supply. India has run into this situation over past three years.
GDP growth has slipped slower while inflation has remained high and the rupee has also gotten weaker as the trade balance has gotten worse. This has placed the RBI in a bind. If it drops rates, inflation will certainly rise. But growth may not rise even if rates are cut because growth depends to a large extent on fiscal policy. The government has been absolutely paralysed on the policy front in recent years.
So the RBI has decided not to touch either money supply or policy rates in the latest credit policy. At the same time, the Chinese have cut rates, the Europeans have eased money supply with a big bailout for Spain’s banks, and the US has eased money supply.
This comparative situation is probably bad for India’s economic growth, which means it could be bad for equity investors. It is bad for debt investors too. It means that in the short run at least, expectations of returns from the stock market drop. There is one possible situation where holding rates unchanged could turn out to be beneficial. It leaves room for cuts in an emergency if there’s a sudden currency collapse in Europe.
Over the next six months, if growth slows even further, there will be a point where inflation will start coming down. The economy will then stage some sort of recovery. Before that, we’re likely to see quite a lot more pain. It will also be interesting to see the direction in which exchange rates go. I suspect that the USD will get quite a bit stronger versus the rupee before the exchange rate trends play out.
Merola must be desperate if he’s suddenly wanting to debate critics. He’s always hidden from them before.
Robert Dobbs
The spokesman who isn’t a spokesman is trolling to get attention for his dying movement.
He’s targeting people that have audiences that he can preach to.
I guess RT and KPFK don’t care anymore.

Ok, to understand more clearly what the author may be referring in that quote anonymous posted, I believe this author of the article is referring to a globally based RBE, as to if it were to happen it must be on a global scale as said by the RBE guru being Fresco and Roxanne. A RBE cannot happen any other way but globally not even a small scale RBE is really a RBE. The author probably has a basic understanding of TVP’s RBE and therefore made a very rational outcome that if the economy did not collapse that for a RBE to become into reality as of now, it would have to take acts of violence to do so based on the number of people who are monetarily invested in about three quarters of the earths resources currently.
Read the authors words carefully he says “The top 50% of global population controls close to 80% of resources and of course”, which he sets the framework that on a global level the top 50% of society controls 80% of the planets resources. He’s basically saying for a global RBE to occur 80% of the planets resources must be captured and processed by RBEer’s new economic system. However I’m unaware of a special percent at which a global RBE would be called officially a global RBE, I could be wrong at this though. However either way a RBE isn’t very practical and the author gets his very logical and accurate point across.
As far as the author suggests the only way to get a RBE off the ground is by eliminating the top 50% (who own 80% of the planets resources) is again fairly accurate assumption based on present information although using the word “Kill” is a bit dramatic in my opinion as one could merely be subdued by force into going along with TZM’s RBE as well or as TZM says reconditioned or reeducated. When the author says “you’d have to kill a lot of people before you can redistribute.”, he is referring to present day as of right now, and at that I’d agree that presently a RBE would have no chance because of the current structure, I believe Fresco, Roxanne, and Peter Joseph would agree with that assessment as well as I believe they have said similar statements in the past. In short no one is going to allow somebody to steal there stuff and redistribute that stuff for free which is what a RBE does basically under the current system, that’s the gist of what the author is suggesting.
I believe this is a fairly rational and accurate projection based on the authors interpretation of a globally based RBE and how the TVP/TZM transition would have to occur to make a RBE presently. Although the author may have not realized he left out a important piece to TZM/TVP’s RBE/RBEM ideology, which is to my understanding that both TVP and TZM have said there must be a economic collapse to occur so people lose “faith” in the current system, as well as ruling elites lose control of the general population at hand, and therefore a supplement system such as a RBE or RBEM may occur and be adopted more easily.
I personally think a RBE or RBEM is not the most practical way to go about things and I also believe that problems similar to what happened now in this system will occur in a RBE/RBEM but to a worse extent then they are now. The current system is getting better all the time therefore I do not believe the current system is bad but I always believe there is room to strive to do better. Keep in mind a RBE is not well defined by Fresco/Roxanne on the website or in there videos/books, dvd’s as it’s pretty vague in general. I can not fault the author who wrote the article to get everything right as he was fairly accurate with the conditions he had suggested above on a RBE ideology; The authors only source of reference for the most accurate information on a RBE is given by Fresco and Roxanne of the Venus project and those references of the information that talk about a RBE have never implemented a RBE themselves let alone have any credibility to there name in anything besides promoting/talking about a RBE utopia and how this utopia RBE will happen.
I’m currently in the process of make a RBE criteria list based on what Fresco/Roxanne have said over the years about a RBE. I hope the criteria list will help people evaluate a RBE more easily, rather than asking Fresco and Roxanne what a RBE is, or finding bits and pieces of what a RBE is on the TVP website or any other mediums. The RBE criteria list should just contain everything that should be in a RBE basically.
Also to note the author made a mistake as TZM does not advocate a TVP RBE, TZM advocates a RBEM which is a Resource Based Economic Model not a Resource Based Economy. I may correct the author of the article in the comment section.

“UPDATE: The author responded- claims he will not come on TZM’s Global Radio Show due to a “language barrier”. He suggested I make an essay rebuttal for him answering Qs… but he doesn’t guarantee it will ever be seen…. I’ll do my best to do it but it could be a total waste of time and i’m up to my ears in writing projects. Likely just more pee in the swimming pool, i’m afraid.” -Peter Joseph Merola

what do you think you have here? most of this is from 2011. you trashed Peter Joseph for coming at a critic for an article written a year ago and here you are bringing up nonsense that really is no longer relevant. What else ya got? not to mention you have links that no longer work, all the TZM forum shit can’t be seen??? and most of this shit is taken out of context and grossly being misrepresented and misinterpreted, are you guys for real? I want to see shit with some MEAT, real substance shit that I can digest and think about, but so far your entire website is like a big HATER filled montage of crap. Are you jealous of him? just wondering, do you want to be like him and struggle to figure why you can’t muster up enough supporters to come at TZM with real evidence backed data and information opposing anything the guy has to say? CTFU!!! btw just to make shit clear i am not a member of TZM, i go where the info makes sense, i came here to see some good arguments against the movement, yeah that failed.

If Peter (biblical) Joseph (biblical) Merola (real last name) wants to bitch about 2011 articles that criticized his online cult now, I don’t see what the problem is, I should be able to put up these links of ex-members expressing why they didn’t like the Zeitgeist Movement no matter how old they are. Corboy is asking for this and I think he has been asking for this for awhile and I’m contributing. What we have here is a shitload of people complaining about TZM, it’s not just the critics as Zeitards like you to think explaining why we disagree with a RBE. But if you’re so butthurt about the 2011 testimonies, then follow up with another former coordinator who is complaining about TZM now. If I find more ex-members talking about TZM, I’ll provide more links.
“not to mention you have links that no longer work, all the TZM forum shit can’t be seen???”
I don’t think I shared any of those in the comment you’re complaining about, if I did, it’s archived in some way, but obviously, if they were still up, I would put up those links as well to make my case to show how abusive people in the hierarchy of TZM can be, of course, I’m referring to what Skeptic Project might have missed that is related to the article I’m on now.
“and most of this shit is taken out of context and grossly being misrepresented and misinterpreted, are you guys for real?”
I can’t take you “for real” if you can’t explain how things are “taken out of context and grossly being misrepresented and misinterpreted”.
“Are you jealous of him?”
lolno.
“btw just to make shit clear i am not a member of TZM”
I wish I had a nickel everytime a Zeitard said that.
“i go where the info makes sense, i came here to see some good arguments against the movement, yeah that failed.”
Antidom said something like that and found the “substance“, maybe you’ll just change your mind like he did.
Mario Brotha
Interesting, however what is your stance on poop meat?

I can assure you I am not jealous of Peter Merola. I enjoy having a full head of hair and a clear conscience.

Very well said, Mr. Dobbs I’m also not a “member” of TZM (whatever the hell that is) and I also go where the information makes sense. Calling this the pathetic “hater” site that it is could not have been more on point. It’s also great to get different points of view that make sense but those points of view have to be offered honestly and with absolute integrity which the participants of THIS particular “cult” simply don’t have the capacity for.
This site has all the credibility of the National Enquirer.

OO looks like this post has struck a nerve!!! Glad you liked it!!!

Vague perspective. For me this is a blog. Some things said in the blog not everybody is going to agree with and then other things said within this blog others may agree with. You have to pick and choose the material that’s good over material that may not be what you are looking for. There are 6 different authors on the blog so that’s 6 different thoughts (I happen to be one of the authors.). For me some things written in this blog I don’t always agree with and other things I do agree with.
As VTV claims this blog should be held to Journalism integrity in a way it is, as people will correct what the authors have said and in return the authors will correct it if needed. However you offer criticism without pointing out for this instance what exactly is your problem with a particular blog post/s. Therefore your criticism is interpreted as a critic who is upset because Authors on this site may say things that go against what your belief system is within TZM. The problem you have is not the fact that the authors on this site have valid or invalid criticism of TZM but it’s more the fact that the authors of this site have any criticism towards TZM that you get offended. This just shows how indoctrinated you are in the TZM belief system which is based entirely on dogma. If you’re upset then be specific, if we got it wrong then tell us where, if you’re going to scream no matter if we have valid or invalid criticism towards TZM, then that makes you a person who believes in the TZM RBE dogma so you might as well make TZM into a religion, second I will show you the door.
Whatever: How could anyone have criticism towards TZM? Whatever: They must be trolls cause TZM is out to help the world!

“HATER” seems to be the key word today. Ironically, the top search query today for this blog is (drumroll):
“peter jospeh message to haters”
Seems like a couple of followers of the zeitgeist god peter joseph found the “hater” site they were looking for. Typical knee-jerk responses from the followers of PJ.
search term: “Summer Sagan Perry dating Peter Joseph Merola”?

I wonder if this searcher was referring to VTV’s co-host. Her first name is Summer.

Nick Nunez, Robert Dobbs and Roxette Miller I know for a fact never used Facebook to contact Zeitgeisters; let alone troll them. In the end this list just subjected them to Zeitgeisters harassing them. It’s an enemies list; pure and simple.

The more VTV tries to defend TZM from the cult label, the more I think it is a cult. I would note that from day one I’ve said it wasn’t a cult, but his behavior is shit that I expect from talking to LaRouchies.

DAHAHAHAHA. I remember when they used to hand out his periodicals on the subway! Lyndon Larouche, he’s an old time nut.

If I knew nothing about TZM and read this thread, specifically where VTV is defending it, I would slowly be convinced TZM is a full blown cult. He denounces critics and ex members as insane, his demeanor is condescending, his rational takes large leaps to bad conclusions and his tireless unwavering defense. I’m getting the feeling that VTV might change Ross’ opinions and not in TZM’s favor. If TZM knew what’s best for itself it would go in and try to distance itself from VTV.
internetjimjesus
Everyone who figures out what VTV is eventually distances themselves from him eventually.

TZM and TVP are quite simply put, failed movements and experiments. Every error that could possibly have been made by these projects/movements, have been made: The lack of strong and informed leadership and the reluctance of said leaders to take on the role in the first place, the lack of a knowledgeable and involved academic base, the refurbishing of failed communist ideology and methodology hidden under a veneer of obscure terms such as “resource based economy” and then denying it has anything to do with communism, or marxism or technocracy for that mater, the decentralized nature of the movements: it seems to me anybody can be a “member” or “support”TZM and TVP as long as they declare it in a youtube video. This results in little structure, little planning in producing protests, and little to no attracting of dedicated and talented personnel, people who are willing and able to invest time and expertise, rather than run their mouths on youtube videos, click like on said TZM/TVP related videos, and on facebook, and make useless internet petitions,The release of internet conspiracy films, this perhaps killed the very concept and direction of Zeitgeist Movement even before PJ Merola said it out loud. And finally and most importantly the total inability to work among themselves as TZM and TVP split some time ago, and in this link here it shows the total inflexibility of Jacque Fresco himself to work with other organizations who support his vision! He wants to work with them only so long as they support DEFERRING to him and his all-knowing authority and stance. The guy feels he ALONE has the keys that will “better” mankind! Fresco is merely a selfish arrogant and egotistical man. Ironically, for someone who touts the importance of intellect, he is quite intellectually dishonest, as any intellectual knows that solutions to complex real word problems do not lie in any one place. Rather, many people from different backgrounds, views, ideas, opinions, come together in order to assemble the most potentially cohesive solution.
